THC hired its first full time Case manager!

Greetings! We are excited to announce that the Trans Housing Coalition (THC) has hired our first full time case manager. Ricardo Hernandez (they/them/theirs) has joined THC as the Homeless Outreach Case Manager in partnership with Intown Collaborative Ministries (ICM).

Ricardo graduated from Oglethorpe University in 2016 with a Bachelors in Sociology with a Concentration in Social Work. They later went on to pursue and receive their Masters in Social Work through the Andrew Young School for Policy Studies at Georgia State University (GSU) in 2018.

Ricardo is a Latinx, non-binary, and queer community member. They have been invested in community organizing, activism, and advocacy since their early Undergraduate years and believe in a radical queer/trans liberation as a means of solving large-scale injustices and inequalities. Pivotal fields of experience for Ricardo has been working alongside queer & trans youth, Latinx youth, and folks living with HIV.

Intown Collaborative Ministries works to prevent and reverse homelessness and hunger in Intown Atlanta. Intown’s Homeless Outreach Program is a four-step process of engagement, enrollment, navigation, and housing and has had remarkable success, housing more chronically homeless people over the past four years than any other team in the city.

Ricardo will be working duly with THC and ICM, collaborating alongside other THC case managers to ensure our clients are provided intensive person-centered and best practice services.

From Ricardo:

"I'm really grateful to be working alongside and for trans folks, intentionally doing impactful work to get our trans communities housed and set for success! And the girls are just brilliant! I'm learning from them as they are from me! Collaborative teamwork all the way!"
