THC Emergency Grant Results

Greetings: The THC team wanted to update the public on the outcomes of our Emergency Fund Grant that we awarded last month! We are happy to say that we were able to send one-time grants to everyone* that applied by the deadline: 149 people, to whom we awarded a total of $108,000.

We decided to offer the grants, for trans and gender-nonconforming people in the Atlanta area, after seeing how much immediate need there was during this current pandemic. Based on our data, nearly half of the people who received the grant were either homeless or at risk of being homeless. Nearly one-third were quarantined or unable to work because of the current pandemic.

We are grateful that we were able to assist 149 Trans & Gender Non-Conforming Georgians remain in housing during a global pandemic.

As of right now, we do not have another grant cycle planned. Also, we are currently not accepting any new clients into the THC Housing First program as we are at capacity with the 31 people that we are currently housing.

We are grateful for your continued support and we’ll be in touch with more updates soon about our work with the Trans women and men we are helping get off the streets!
